I use paint.net too. I must have a go at working thins out. Oh! Did you take out the normal eye colour (rub it out) and then put another layer underneath it and colour it red in the eyes? Just a guess though

No i just selected the eyes and changed the hue. the simpler the better, i dont like doing things all fancy like.
